Rashad Khalifa actually teaches that pig fat is halal. Honestly, most Muslims will just bust-up laughing after hearing something like that. Who in their right mind ever thought we’d see a day where a self-proclaimed Islaamic reformer argues that pig fat or lard is halal? When I first discovered this anomaly in his 1989 Qur’aan, I reread it several times in sheer disbelief. It proves that his cult have the absolute lowest level of knowledge and understanding when it comes to Allah’s Divine Dietary Law. In fact, their knowledge is worse than that of the swine-eating ministers preaching from behind the pulpit. There is no difference between a Submitter and a Christian and they both love that pagan word “GOD” over the correct and original name of the Creator: ALLAH. Rashad Khalifa has been in America too long cooking his food in lard. You cannot get no more Christian then that.
Here is another verse where Allah has condemned the pig:
Here is where you can find the evidence of Rashad Khalifa in his 1989 shirk Qur’aan where he teaches that pig fat (lard) is Halal, in his tafsir for Qur’aan 5:3 on page 732:
“*5:3 The “meat” of the pig is prohibited, not the “fat.” Anything that is not specifically prohibited in the Quran must be considered lawful. See 6:145-146.”
For those who want a direct copy of this from his Qur’aan, go here:

Additional evidence of Rashad Khalifa teaching that pig fat (lard) is Halal can be found in Appendix 16 under the section titled: Dietary Prohibitions on page 663, which I will dismantle:
“The Quran teaches that God is extremely displeased with those who prohibit anything that was not specifically prohibited in the Qur’an (16:112-116). The upholding of any prohibitions not specifically mentioned in the Quran is tantamount to idolatry (6:142-152). Such prohibitions represent some other god(s) besides God. If you worship God ALONE, you will uphold His teachings ALONE and honor the commandments and prohibitions instituted only by Him.
The absolute specificity of dietary prohibitions in the Quran is best illustrated in 6:145-146. We learn from these two verses that when God prohibits “meat,” He prohibits “meat” and nothing else, and when He prohibits “fat,” that is what He specifically prohibits. These two verses inform us that “the meat” of pigs is prohibited, not “the fat.” Obviously, God knew that in many countries, lard would be used in baked goods and other food products, and that such usage does not render the foods Haraam (prohibited). The Quran specifically prohibits four meats (2:173, 5:3, 6:142-145, and 16:115):”
We cannot trust this self-proclaimed reformer’s translation of the Qur’aan nor his interpretation of it. Given the numerous mistranslations, omissions, injecting his name in the Qur’aan as a Messenger, interpretive errors and instances in which the meaning of the Arabic text has been twisted or manipulated to support predetermined conclusions, there is no reasonable basis for accepting this translation as a trustworthy authority. If the translation itself cannot be shown to accurately convey the true meaning of Kalima Allah, then the teachings, doctrines, and conclusions built upon that translation become equally questionable. A translation that fails to faithfully represent the Arabic text cannot serve as a reliable foundation for understanding the message revealed by Allah. Rashad Khalifa argued that pig fat (lard) is lawful because the Qur'aan specifically mentions "the flesh of swine" and does not explicitly mention its fat. According to his reasoning, if Allah intended to prohibit pig fat, He would have specifically said so. Therefore, he concluded that only pig meat is prohibited while pig fat remains lawful. This conclusion is fundamentally flawed, linguistically, biologically, and contextually. It demonstrates a failure to understand how language functions in the Qur'aan and ignores the reality that the pig is a single living organism whose tissues, organs, fat, blood, skin, and flesh are all part of the same prohibited animal.
1. Destroy Rashad Khalifa’s Linguistic Fallacy: What Does Lahm ( لَحْمَ ) mean?
This part of the verse appears in 2:173; 5:3; 6:145; 16:115:
Rashad Khalifa’s entire argument hinges on a hyper-literal, modern English understanding of the word "meat" as being strictly muscle tissue, entirely separate from fat. This is a serious mistake. However, the Quran was revealed in clear classical Arabic and there is no confusion at all about this verse. The only confusion that exists is Rashad Khalifa’s spiritually debased pathology which caused him to fall into spiritual darkness which causes him to intentionally distort the revelation of Allah. In classical Arabic, the word Lahm لَحْمَ refers to the flesh of an animal as a collective whole, which biologically and linguistically encompasses the muscle, the fat marbled within it, and the fat attached to it.
In the verse Allah describes the pig as:
Notice the pronoun used: Innahu ( إنه ) – which literally means: “Indeed IT is”.
The entire pig is unclean, impure, filthy, take a look at this article by Discover magazine:

2. Demolishing Rashad Khalifa’s Argument Using Qur’aan 6:145-146
Rashad Khalifa points to verses 145 and 146 of Sura Al-An'aam to claim that Allah explicitly distinguishes between "meat" and "fat," arguing that because Allah specifies "fat" for Jews, "meat" for Muslims means only muscle.
Qur’aan 6:145-146
145. Say, "I find nothing in what Allah has revealed to me that forbids the people to eat anything except it be that which dies of itself, or running blood, or the flesh of pigs; for all this is unclean, or (I find that thing forbidden) what is profane, which has been sacrificed in other than Allah's name. If one is forced (to eat these) by dire need without being deliberate or malicious, then your Lord is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful."
146. For those who are Jews, We prohibited every animal with undivided hoofs; and of the oxen and sheep We prohibited the fat, except that which is carried on their backs or in the viscera or mixed with their bones. That was the punishment which was awarded for their willful disobedience; and We are always true to Our words.
I want you to focus on verse 146:
Qur’aan 6:146
146. For those who are Jews, We prohibited every animal with undivided hoofs; and of the oxen and sheep We prohibited the fat, except that which is carried on their backs or in the viscera or mixed with their bones. That was the punishment which was awarded for their willful disobedience; and We are always true to Our words.
The Internal Logic of the Qur’aanic Text:
Look at how Allah structures the prohibition for the Jews: He specifically banned them from eating the fat of Cattle and Sheep (animals that are otherwise completely Halal).
-
For Halal Animals (Cow/Sheep): The animal itself is pure. Therefore, if Allah wants to forbid a specific part of a pure animal, He must explicitly name that part. Hence, He specifies Shuhuum (fat).
-
For Haram Animals (The Pig): The animal itself is Rijs (unclean). There is no need to separate its fat from its meat because the whole animal's flesh is barred from consumption, just as I have previously proven.
By using common sense: Why would Allah ban the Jews from eating the clean fat of a Halal cow as a punishment, but allow Muslims to eat the greasy, toxin-carrying fat (lard) of a Haraam pig? It is a complete inversion of Qur’aanic logic.
