Rashad Khalifa mistranslated Qur’aan 4:34 to endorese wife beating, a move that is cowardly and linguistically flawed. If that extraordinary claim were true—which it is not—then how could he misinterpret such a fundamental verse and distort its true meaning into an endorsement of wife beating???? The evidence speaks for itself. His translation inserts the command “BEAT THEM” yet the original Arabic text does not say that at all. Rather than restoring or purifying the revelation of Allah, Rashad Khalifa corrupted the meaning of Qur’aan 4:34 by substituting his own false interpretation for the Words of Allah.

The verse advices them to get an arbitrator from both sides of the family to deal with their marital problems. While they are in the state of a pending separation, they may decide to reconcile and save their marriage or they may end up in a divorce. Now examine Qur’aan 4:35 so that you can see the context of them being in a pending separation and then you will understand how ridiculous and oppressive the ulama and their pseudo bootleg religious leaders, including Rashad Khalifa’s interpretation of beating your wives are:
